Seth Mellen Milliken was born in 1836 in Poland, Me. He married Margaret Leighton Hill of Dover, N.H. in 1874. Their children were Seth M. Milliken, Jr., M.D.; Gerrish Hill Milliken (1877-1947); and Margaret Leighton Milliken (Mrs. Harold Ames Hatch).
